MyWeb
MyWeb is a server on which students, faculty, and staff can store files and publish Web pages. You may store up to 40 Mb of files in a personal directory (folder) on the MyWeb server.
Putting files on the server
- Create the files or Web pages on computer.
For information on Web Publishing, see
- Connect to the server.
In Windows, you can connect two ways:
On MAC OS X, connect:
- If necessary, create a folder named pub inside your directory.
If you connected using WS_FTP or Fetch, follow their instructions on how to create a folder.
If you connected by creating a network place, create the folder as you normally do in Windows.
- Put your Web pages into the pub folder in your directory.
- Open a Web browser and look at your pages to make sure they are visible.
The Web address for a Web page named home.htm stored in your pub folder would be:
http://myweb.nmu.edu/~yourid/home.htm
For example, Wolfgang Mozart's (wmozart) page would be:
http://myweb.nmu.edu/~wmozart/home.htm
Faculty Server Information
Faculty may also publish Web pages on the Faculty Web Server, which supports Microsoft FrontPage extensions (features). If you want to publish on the Faculty Web Server, please see Publishing to the Faculty Server with Microsoft FrontPage.
