Disabling Call Waiting (MAC OS X)

To disable call waiting for a dial-up connection on MAC OS X:

  1. Click on the phone icon and choose Open Internet Connect...
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Click the PPP tab.
  4. In the "Telephone Number" field, type *70, (star 70 comma) before the number, then click Apply Now.

Disabling Call Waiting (Windows)

To disable call waiting for a dial-up connection in Windows:

  1. Click Start > Connect To > Show All Connections to open the Network Connections folder.
  2. Select the icon for the number you are calling, then click the Change settings of this connection link.
  3. Select Use dialing rules, then click Dialing Rules.
  4. Select your location, then click Edit.
  5. Check the box "To disable call waiting," type the code for disabling call waiting, and click OK.

    This code is usually *70, (star 70 comma).

  6. Click OK again until you have closed all the configuration windows.
