Checking TCP/IP Settings (MAC OS X)
To check the TCP/IP settings on MAC OS X:
- Click on the phone icon and choose Open Internet Connect...
- Click Edit.
- Click the TCP/IP tab, and make sure the settings look like this:
- Click the PPP tab, then click PPP Options.
- Make sure the settings look like this:
- Click OK.
Checking TCP/IP Settings (Windows)
To check the TCP/IP settings in Windows:
- Open the connection you are trying to dial.
- Click Properties, then click the Networking tab.
- Under "The connection uses the following items," select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), then click Properties.
- Make sure your settings look like this:
Then click Advanced.
- Click on the General tab and make sure your settings look like this:
- Click on the DNS tab and make sure your settings look like this:
- If necessary, delete any entries in the "DNS server addresses" list.
- If necessary, add nmu.edu and/or acs.nmu.edu to the "Append these DNS suffixes" list.
- Click Add.
- Type the domain suffix (nmu.edu or acs.nmu.edu).
- Click Add.
- Click on the WINS tab and make sure your settings look like this:
- Click OK until you return to the dial-up window.
