Setting Tone/Pulse Dialing (MAC OS X)

To make sure your dial-up connection is configured for Tone dialing:

1. Click on the phone icon and choose Open Internet Connect.
   
2. Click Edit.
   
3. Click the Modem tab.
4. Select Tone dialing, then click Apply Now.
   

Setting Tone/Pulse Dialing (Windows XP)

To configure the Tone/Pulse setting in Windows XP:

1. Click Start > Connect To > Show All Connections to open the Network Connections folder.
2. Select the icon for the number you are calling, then click the Change settings of this connection link.
   
3. Select Use dialing rules, then click Dialing Rules.
   
4. Select your location, then click Edit.
   
5. Select Tone, then click OK.
   
6. Click OK again until you have closed all the configuration windows.
