NMU ThinkPad Restore

ThinkPad models change slightly every few months and there are several models of ThinkPads in use at NMU. It's inevitable that not all students will have the same model because new students join the laptop program each semester. Students will never have a ThinkPad that is older than 2 years. Software upgrades are usually available each semester so that students and faculty can keep their ThinkPad operating system and software current.

Current NMU ThinkPad Models
R60 9457-Y3P Series (2007 Model) lease ends-Summer 2009
R61 8933-B66 Series (2008 Model) lease ends-Summer 2010

Installing Other Software
You may choose to install other software packages or reconfigure the ThinkPad. If the ThinkPad becomes unstable because of software modifications made, the computer can be easily restored to the original image using the new System Restore feature in Windows XP (found under Start... All Programs... Accessories... System Tools... menu).
