Notebook Computer Purchase

- PURPOSE: Defines the purchase of used notebook computers
- APPLICABILITY: Students, faculty and staff
- POLICY:
Notebook computers become available for purchase when the IBM or Apple lease expires, (every two years). The purchase price is negotiated between NMU and Apple and IBM and passed on to the purchaser; one notebook per person per year. Eligible purchasers will be notified via their NMU email account with purchase procedures.
WHO IS ELIGIBILE TO PURCHASE?
The following groups, in priority, are eligible to purchase the End of Lease notebook computers:
Group 1 : NMU students that are issued the end of lease model available for purchase.
Group 2 : TLC participants that are graduating from NMU and are issued the 1 year old notebook. These students will be eligible to purchase the end of lease model that is available for purchase after the 1 year notebook is returned.
Group 3 : NMU faculty and staff that are issued the end of lease model that is available for purchase.
Group 4 : All NMU faculty and staff, if inventory permits.
Group 5 : Northern Michigan University Retirees - if inventory permits - REFERENCES: None
